Iranians Visiting Canada
Iranians Visiting Canada needs to apply and receive a temporary resident visa(TRV) before they are allowed to enter the country. Temporary resident visas, study permits, and work permits are issued to Iranians through the Embassy of Canada to Turkey located in Ankara, Turkey. Applications forms can be obtained from us or downloaded from Immmigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC) website. Applicants may choose to submit their applications in person, by regular mail or by courier.
It is recommended that applications be submitted at least three months prior to the departure date. Upon approval, applicants must report to a visa office to present their original passport and any supporting documentation. Although a temporary resident visa may be granted, it does not guarantee entry into Canada; Iranians visiting Canada must still satisfy a visa officer’s inquiries regarding eligibility at the port of entry.

- all pages with visas
- all pages with stamps
- all pages with your biographical data (name, date of birth, passport number), including your photo
- Two passport-size photos with the applicant’s full name and birth date printed on the back
- Financial records, such as pay stubs or bank statements, as proof of sufficient funds to support a stay in Canada and return to Iran

- Families applying at the same time: maximum total fee of CAD $170
- Groups of 3 or more performing artists and their staff who apply for work permits at the same time: maximum total fee of $CAD 255
- Work and Study Permits
- In order for Iranians visiting Canada to be eligible to work or study in the country, they must hold a work permit or study permit respectively. However, in certain cases, these permits are not required. For instance, if the visitor in question plans to study for a period of less than six months, a permit will not be needed. Certain classes of workers such as clergy, foreign government officers, military personnel, and other specific exceptions do not need a work permit.
Important Considerations
- Each accompanying family member will require his or her own application form; however, the applications may be submitted together and processed under one payment receipt for the total fee amount
- If a medical examination is required, up to an additional four weeks may be affixed to the application processing time
- If this is your first visit to Canada, you will have to submit your biometrics to the designated place in Turkey.
- Processing fees, which are non-refundable, can be paid in Iranian Rials at a Tejarat Bank (the original receipt of payment must be included with the visa application)
As of December 1, 2011, parents and grandparents from Iran can visit their relatives in Canada using the Super Visa. This visa allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents to visit Canada for up to two years. Visitors can make multiple trips during this period without applying for a new entry visa each time. For more information, see the Super Visa.
